Last month I had the opportunity to partake in roundtable interviews like David Gordon Green during the Los Angeles press morning for Halloween, and during the conversation I brought up the topic of Easter eggs. Having qualified a few nods to previous chapters of the series while watching the movie, I asked if he had any favorite detail-driven homages in the film. And while he as a consequence mentioned a bit that can't be revealed until after the movie is released, he as a consequence revealed the spoiler-free bit above.
The song in the indigenous Halloween that David Gordon Green is referencing can be found at the very begin of the film unexpectedly after Laurie Strode is first introduced to audiences. As she is walking to school, she is asked by her dad to drop a key off at the Myers' area -- and it's here that Michael Myers first sets eyes upon her. Halloween was famously an very low-budgeted production, but that's historically been a allocation of its charm.
